In AR - each county that touched a county with a confirmed case was included in the cwd “zone”. Stopped year round supplemental feeding but allowed baiting during season to increase harvest in cwd zone. Increased doe bag limit. Remove the 3 pt antler restriction. Started counting button bucks as antlerless deer instead of bucks. The goal is to reduce the herd and age structure.
Yep that's what MO did. No feed or salt licks. Removed APR in hopes of not letting bucks get old. It's not going to work in many places. We've been conditioned to pass on young deer, it's a hard habit to give up when you've committed years to doing it.
That does suck for Mississippi. Something tells me it's going to be everywhere eventually.

Yeah I think your right. Being In wisconsin it’s been here since 1999. They tried to contain the outbreak but it seems as each year passes more and more new locations pop up, some not even close to the hot zones. So I don’t think anyone knows how it’s spread. It’s only a matter of time before its where I hunt. The best advice I can give is if your concerned test your deer if you’re able. Then you can make the decision on whether or not you want to consume the deer. There aren’t any confirmed cases of it spreading to humans but Canada did a study with monkeys And they got it. So who knows...
With hunting season closed. Iv heard...the department of wildlife, fisheries, and parkshe said they are going to start taking more samples for test in the core area so I guess they are going to go out and shoot and take samples. They are not giving much info right now until they get the plan together
