Cow manure?

Daydreamer

5 year old buck +
Tree planting season is upon most of us. I'll be planting mostly seedlings such as Dolgo, Plum, Oak and Serviceberry. I just realized that my neighbor has several piles of old cow manure. Would it be worth mixing with black dirt when I backfill my holes?
Thoughts?

I'd put some at the bottom of the hole or some on top. Mixing may be to strong and damage your trees.

I think I would personally just top dress with the manure instead of mixing it in the hole.

I'd say just mulch it on top. Give it a good 4 inches and you'll be good. I've found that it (although I've only used aged horse manure) acts as a great diluted fertilizer as it rains.
