That isn't a cougar, who confirmed that? Feral cat for sure. Ears, shoulder blades, feet, tail musculature (lack) and body comp tell the story. My wife is a big cat expert BTW, been working with them for 13+ years.

Your wife know this Evan that sent me this? Go to school together? This guy had know Idea when he said it wasn't a mountain lion either.

Here is the lion king from Jefferson city's last email to me.

First off I want to apologize for the information that I sent to you earlier this week. After looking at your photo and talking with some of my colleagues that conducted the field investigation, we have in fact confirmed that the photo your friend had is of a mountain lion. When the full photo is show the scale appears different than in the zoomed in. That being said I apologize for jumping to conclusions without the full picture.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience,

Evan Grusenmeyer

I am going to start doing some mountain lion hunts here in Monticello. Get me Evans contact info so when my clients claim they have just killed a house cat and not a banded lion I can send them to him to stay out of court.

Sounds like a MDDI fund raiser to me.

We are working on having moose hunts in our county. Bag limit is one bull and up to 8 cow tags. It should work great. The DNR is used to that tag allotment system.
Cost is $1000 per tag and we recommend you purchase 8 tags immediately. Payable to MDDI.

Moose are a major problem in our area. I see about as many moose as deer. Well almost.....and I might fib a bit.

Mo you will know if you have one on your place. The one on my place was a killing machine. We found 3 dead deer in a short time frame. All had injuries to they skulls and back of the neck. Wolves, bears and yotes dont crush a skull in.
I never called the dnr, why? I've got nothing to gain getting them involved.

SSS perhaps???;)

How's this for a state making sense: they say there are NO mountain lions in PA, but they passed a regulation making it illegal to shoot mountain lions in PA. Seriously, who was the genius that thought that made sense?!
If I see one, it's getting it, and I am taking it home and mounting the sucker. I figure it must be covered under my Sasquatch license, or I could maybe just use my unicorn tag.

I have been hearing reports of a lion nearby since last fall....all coming out of the same general area. One of the sightings came from a friend of mine and his two sons....all 3 are serious hunters and trappers....and my friend was one of the most vocal detractors of mtn lion sightings locally. They swear by what they saw. I don't know what they saw, mtn lion? Maybe? Who knows?
