I'll be near there the week of the 4th.I am in Carnation Washington.
The exact same thing. A small columnar oak with maturing acorns. These trees were planted last year I believe.
Thanks. Some pictures would be awesome. The next closest town to me has lined their Main Street with columnar oaks and they have se a good mast crop this year and was planning on picking a few up to start and was hoping some would continue that columnar habit.Angus 1895 ... those are a cross between a columnar English oak and a white oak ... some are known as a Crimson Spire. I have a group of 8 that kept all their leaves last 2 winters ... unusual
Bluestone ... beyond the F1 hybrid, the offspring may be columnar or you may occasionally get a reversion to the non-columnar parent (swo or Eo) .... I've got a couple of examples at one property; I'll try to
get photos by next week (travel this week)
What’s the deal with the leaves?Looks like english. Leaves are in bad shape.
You could pick them now.
