I once established switch grass following beans. Had the field sprayed early spring after frost seeding. Natural clovers came on strong.
With that experience in mind I'm planning on doing a miscanthus planting and seeding clover on purpose.
I did some searching and found some test data that shows there is only a 30% reduction in red clover biomass production when it is seeded in between corn rows treated with 2lbs per acre. Since my experience didn't involve me planting the clover I have no idea how much loss was actually suffered. But from what I saw it wasn't much.
Anyway long story short, here is a good read on cover crops after various herbicides and their 1/2 life Depending on soil type and of all thing PH levels. https://www.sare.org/content/download/80593/1414422/Curran_Indyconference.pdf
