Catscratch House and Habitat build

The hole wasn't filled. A couple of eggs were broken. One was out of the hole but not broken. Several were still in the hole but I didn't check to see if they were intact or not. Didn't goof with them much.

Been a while since updating...
My milo plot is doing well. Deer have shifted from staying in the rye/clovers/alfalfa plot, and started hitting the milo plot.

The youngest spent the last couple of weeks in France for a tournament. Somehow he always ends up with the flag. The boat ride was the same one they did in the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Pretty cool trip for him!

Got him back and we spent the weekend on a fishing spree. My favorite bait was plentiful (had to fight the snakes for them... could barely get a fish out of the water before multiple serpents were on it.), bass were biting, and cats were eager.

Quite a life you are living there Cat....you do lots of interesting stuff. kudo's! (tho some of those snake events I could live without!)

The snakes give some people the creeps Foggy, but unless you're a small fish they're harmless.

Build this the other day. Told the wife it was for her, but really I just needed a place to wash the mud off before coming in. Someday I'll finish this place!

Some of the rock was quarried on the place. I wanted to incorporate as much of the land's history in our place as I could. 1880-1890's Russians annd Germans did the stone work. Amazing what they did with hand tools and horses. To cut the stones they hand hammer drilled holes and let freeze cycles split the stone.

The snakes are crazy. Is there that many of them in your pond? What team was playing for that he got to go over seas?

Rain looks good on your crops Cat. Did that deer have ticks on it's ears?

And what in the world was that fish, a bluegill crossed with a bass?

And if I saw snakes come out of the water at my fish, I'd be running like a dang purse dog for the house.

The rain has been phenomenal!

It's a green eared sunfish. Absolutely wonderful bait! Lots of pond owners don't like them as they can take over to the point that they'll eat bass fry, and eat all the food that the bass would eat (they have big mouths). Bluegill have a smaller mouth and don't compete with bass for food.

Bullheads used to be my preferred flathead bait with green sunfish a very close number 2.
