Any of yall ever put game cam up in top loft of barn for security purpose?
It's hot up in top loft, but good place for cam. It showed up 107 today and that was about ten degrees higher than outside Temps. This gonna hurt camera , batteries, or SD cards?
What yall think?

Extremes are hard on gear in general. We pull ours in around december to avoid 5 months of frigid temps.

It could probably take it for a while, but I would expect the chance it could shorten it's useful life.

It is really the same for any electronic device that is meant to withstand a variety of conditions, it will fail sooner when it must operate on the extreme ends of those conditions for any length of time. I don't know that I would spend the money on a Reconyx for the test run, that's for sure. Maybe try it with your oldest cam and replace that one with something else in your other areas?

I think your batteries would fry if it was that hot for a consistent basis.

Yep...think I need to wait till September when we get a little cooler.
I'll take it down this weekend and put it elsewhere for a while.
I didn't even think about the temperature untill I was looking at the card after I had done got home.

I had one survive a fire last yr. Burned the ties off and melted the case. Still works but consider myself lucky.
