Browning cams

buckdeer1

5 year old buck +
I have browning cams at a well used gap next a food plot and was watching deer walk by cam.Pulled today and none of those deer caught. There was a few before and after.I called trail cam pro and even though it was on solar they suggested changing batteries. They said most common issues are batteries and SD cards.

Always good to learn new info. Very helpful. Thanks for posting this info.

I have moved away from browning cameras after a decade of exclusively using them.. their electronics can NOT handle voltage drop. They get very bad at triggering, maintaining video capture, and even card writing when battery voltage gets too low.

I was stuck buying lithium AA’s twice a season, and those have just gotten too expensive. I used Moultrie Mobile cameras for a couple seasons, but their monthly plans are just too expensive to justify.
I am transitioning to GardePro right now. I have 4 of their non-cellular cameras, and 2 cellular. I’m pretty sure the electronics in them run natively in the 3.8V range, since they seem to have built their hardware around existing phone components. That lets them function really well at lower AA voltages.

I've been using Garde Pro E5 for about 3 years. What I notice when the batteries get low is the night videos get real short and repeat real fast.
I have my cameras set for 30 seconds at night and they'll end up being 2 second videos every 5 seconds or so.

That is the issue I had with browning, but my GardePro cameras don’t do it until MUCH lower voltage than the browning.

Put a new camera on the same tre ass a tursted one.

I wish they still made the moultrie 555i C batteries last forever.

Another vote to go with gardepro. I buy the basic e5 and just use photo only.

Never went with browning cameras. But everything I have bought bowning has been to notch. They should either loose the cameras, or up their game.

About every person I know has not been loyal to their brand they started with. Find a winner, buy some spares. Did that when stealth first came out, now doing that with the gardepro e5's.

Bought my First Browning Trail Cam from Tractor Supply about 3 years ago. Don't recall the model but it was a cheaper one ( under $100 ) after I got it set up and was strapping it to a tree , the battery tray kept falling out !. I returned it. Looked online and saw reviews where others had the same problem . I gave Browning another chance with their Dark Ops , takes great pictures and video. HOWEVER after a month or two in the field while in video mode it would make a "clicking" sound when starting to record when a deer walked in front of it and the deer would look right at the Camera. I called customer service and explained the "clicking sound" I was hearing. Was told No way there are no moving parts there shouldn't be any sound....like I was imagining it. They had me send it in , AND sent me back a new one. Soo must HAVE been something wrong .

Been using that camera for the last 2 years in video mode with no issues. For Video I like Browning Dark Ops , and Stealth Cams that cost over $100. For a Cheap Camera the Spy point FORCE-24 I bought in 2025 has worked great for Pics...BUT I haven't tried the video mode yet.
