I know some guys building bucket traps for them and catching thousands

The latest study I had read said that pheromone and bait traps have mixed results at best. In some cases, they bring the adults in closer and result in worse year over year infestations.

I’d think that mixing the traps in with milky spore applications would surely help decrease their numbers? That way you’re killing them from both sides of the fence.

They put cut up apple in water bottle and 3 inches of soapy water in bottom,after they get some beetles in bottom scoop some out and move to another trap for bait.
