Super interesting and I see what you are talking about now. Thank you. Probably still never find anything but at least I have something else to look for.

It took me three years of looking probably 6-8 times each year before I found my first. My brothers were finding them literally at my feet. Once your eyes get calibrated and you know what to look for you start finding them. On average, I find one worked piece for each hour of looking in gravel beds nowadays.

It’s so hard to find time to dedicate to that with so many projects but man I bet it’s rewarding when you put your hands on something that hasn’t been touched in thousands of years

That sums up my experience entirely. As someone that lives about 6 hours from their properties, time is a precious commodity when I am there. I find looking for the points a nice hobby and it is a great break from feeling like you need to get more done.

Something I've wanted to knap for a while, didnt know how it would turn out. Started with a broken slab of rainbow obsidian, it took maybe three hours, a little longer than I thought. The plan is to have it wire wrapped for a necklace. Not my best job of knapping, but it held together and i think it will look good once its wrapped.
