Any Canadian hunting trips?

Anyone have a hunting trip planned to any of the climate lockdown territories in Canada? Heard anything about having to cancel trips?

I’ve hunted and fished in Canada for a few decades now. Usually at least twice per year. Starting this year I’m not going at all. Eff-em.

The woke Syrupeans can pound sand. I’ll spend my money in the US thank you.

I seriously hope our tariffs hurt the normal Canadian folks enough that they rise up and put some sense back into their elected officials.

I'm going to Ontario in September, fishing mostly. Was thinking I might hunt deer there in November.

I'm not really sure where the lockdowns are, but personally I would probably ignore them.

$28,000 fine

$28,000 fine

I heard. But I don't think they have the manpower to enforce it. My guess it that they will stick you with the fine if you get into trouble and need help. I think it's to prevent people from taking resources from the firefighting efforts.

Canada is enormous, and their wilderness is probably impossible to surveil on a large scale with the budget they have. If you're out in the forest minding your own business, I can't imagine they would come after you. But if you get lost or injured and call for a rescue, they'll probably throw the book at you, including the new fine.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I quit crossing the border when Trudeau had a Covid restriction on travel from the US to Canada. You couldn’t cross, and then you had your provide proof of vaccination… No Thanks!

My family had land in Ontario (360 acres) at the time . We couldn’t use it, or access it ! Sold it and never looked back . No interest in doing that again, we have good fishing in MN, SD … etc..

The hunting was fine, but nothing spectacular.

Daughter has a moose hunt in Alberta that I get to go in Oct

I don’t know which provinces declared climate lockdowns, but I got to wondering. When I was buying bear bait, the dude there told me they sell full semis of bait to outfits in Canada. Are those provinces just not going to have a hunting season, and all the outfitters go broke?

No deer season?

No more logging so the place continues to burn out of control?
