Abundance of pears

My buddy has 3 pear trees that this year are absolutely loaded with pears. They are starting to rippen and fall. What can a guy do with all the pears? Is there a pear sauce? Can them, freeze them? He really doesn't want them to go to waste and there aren't many deer around his area to clean them up.

Pear juice is used to sweeten other juices without adding much flavor. You could have them squeezed into cider if you have a cider press in the area.
