Graft compatibility is pretty good across the entire white oak group.
I use mainly bur oak as rootstock - 'cause its readily available, grows fast, and is tolerant of a wide range of soil types & pH , but I avoid post oak due to its slow growth rate .
The MDC had them for sale some years and not others. I’m not sure if they’re going to continue selling those or not. One year I bought them from the City of Concordia at the city pool.
