24DB and Cleth at Same Time?

It is recommended not to tank mix both these herbicides at the same time, but you can read many comments from folks saying they do it and it works fine.

Not sure how fast acting these chemicals are - you can see the grass is dying but it doesnt look like the broadleaf are affected. Sprayed ten days ago

2 qts per acre 24db and 10 oz cleth + crop oil

Also looks like the clover is showing some affect

I think I am now in the camp of apply separately

Clover spotting probably due to crop oil
It takes a while Swamp. Give it more time.

That said, 2-4db is a pretty weak herbicide and not great on mature broadleafs. But they will all die first freeze regardless

I’ve sprayed together many times. It’s more that it thickens and messes up sprayer than how it affects the weeds

Next time add about 4 oz/acre of glyphosate to the mix, will help with the grass and broadleaf kill

I tank mix the two every year with great success.

Yes, most will freeze in a month, except the sedges. Would really like to get rid of them

Never used 24db. But 24d and cleth works just fine. Labels say you can mix.

IN general, most herbicides are for young plants. Depending on you r time frame and target weeds, you could hit everything wil a mild dose of gly, then go back and do 24db and cleth a week later. You can swap it too. Just cleth if your grasses are bad, then light gly with 24db. 24db I believe gets stunted, but does not kill clover. Much like gly's reaction. I expect a double punch of 24db and a quart or more of 41% gly an acre would kill some clovers.

Cleth isn't necsarily a one and done herbicide. Labels usually say 2 or 3 doses.

I got good response from the grass - just nothing from the broadleaf - yet

I always burned my clover with crop oil. I switched to dawn dish detergent no. more burn. Some don't like the foamy clean up though.

Pics of the broadleafs would be helpful. Possiibly plant could be close to dormant this tine of year. I know weeds have taken 2-3 weeks to die in the spring. Soil temp should be more favorable in the fall.

Dish soap is surfactant. Usually sold as non-ionic surfactant.

Surfactant is used to help the herbicide stick to the plant. Dawn does the same thing.

I completely overlooked the use of crop oil. I have only ever used non ionic surfactant or dish soap.

Same. Never used crop oil and I’ve had good success on grasses.

I use NIS instead of crop oil also

The bottom one is a sedge of some type. It will grow all winter down here.
May have to sacrifice the clover next year and spray with gly

I'd try Sedgehammer before gly.

Can you spot spray the sedge?
It is all over the food plots. Probably should have just bit the bullet and sprayed gly. Still not too late - I just dont have time

Basagran will kill Sedge but not clover. The Raptor (named brand Imox) label recommends 8-16 oz/acre of Basagran with Raptor on clover
