    Powerline Foodplot ?

I have a powerline than runs on the one side of my property. Is it possible or has anyone ever planted on the powerline? Thinking of keeping it simple as I would do it all by hand, “a throw and grow”. Currently it’s just canary grass and weeds and maybe some cattails. Figured I would rent a...

    Line Hunters

I’d cut trails for the deer to use and stay inside the thicket. It would be about 50 yards of brush on the outside I would use as my barrier to sneak in. So I would be using that “gap” as a barrier and creating a new interiors edge. I mean if the pressure is from the outside edges, wouldn’t...

    Line Hunters

NYS and I prefer bow hunting. I do gun hunt but the majority of the pressure I put on is during prerut-rut time.

    Line Hunters

I’ve experienced very heavy line hunters on the south side of the property and need to alter my hunting approach. I hunt a small, rectangular piece of land that is roughly 15 acres (that are huntable). The neighbor to the north has a property of similar size, but about three-quarters of it is...

First timer- for clover over grassy area

As this is not the biggest piece and very high deer numbers I think I want to put that snow fencing up around it till it is established. Any suggestions?

First timer- for clover over grassy area

So should I even bother tilling? Seems like I should kill the grass, mow it down as far as possible and then seed?

First timer- for clover over grassy area

So I am attempting to do a smaller plot, some would call it a poor man’s plot or kill plot. It’s about 30x30 yards in a retangluar shape. It currently is over grown grass that as of today was chest high. I did go out today and weed whack it down as far as possible (till I hit dirt). So now it’s...

Frost seed clover for fall food plots

I was thinking of frosting seeding here in upstate NY. Was going to use a clover and a chicory seed. Can I throw the seed over existing grass or does it have to be soil under the snow? (Currently have 1-3” of snow and a warm front coming so I want to try this). Will this work? Below is the...

    Throw’n Grow

This area gets decent lighting. It’s a mix of random natural grasses and golden rod then under the pines is nothing. Could I do a throw and grow as in and have it work? Or would I have to rake it in? Trying not to disturb this area too much just trying to make it a little better.
