    Perry pears

I bought a scion from somewhere, maybe Cummins, of a perry pear called Butt. Butt pear. I still snicker when I say it. I grafted it onto a wild Callery and it is thriving but has not produced yet. Honestly, I think I only bought it for the name, but will make perry someday when it produces.

    Best source for trees

I will vouge for turkey creek. Best looking root systems I've seen.

    Holy crab from Midwest Trees

Anty rootstock does just fine at my place. B118 is a pain because they all tend to lean for me. I have to anchor them to straighten them out. I only bought a small 3 tree order from Midwest deer trees. Along with Holy crab, I bought a county line and a yellow belly crab. They haven't been...

    Holy crab from Midwest Trees

Art, you sold me on trying Dolgo as a rootstock and that is why I bought from them originally.

    Holy crab from Midwest Trees

I've never tried the apples yet so I can't comment on taste. Tony is correct it is a stamp set.

    Holy crab from Midwest Trees

I’ve had a few members ask me how my Midwest trees are doing. Holy crab sure looks like a winner. I planted it in 2022. I’ll keep an eye on it to see when they drop, but in the drought I’m in the critters have really been crushing my apples up in the tree before they are ripening.

    Stopping trunk sprouts

Believe it or not I tried a product called "sucker punch" on a pear tree I had grafted once. I must say it worked awesome.

    Pear Tree Fire Blight

I lost my Johanthorp to fireblight this year. Trimmed all my other pears and they seem ok. Time will tell.

    Bluehill 2025

I bought 3 persimmons and 2 chestnuts this year. I expected small trees and they were, but that was ok. First time I was unimpressed with the root systems on the persimmons from Bluehill. Wish I took some photos. I hope they make it. Their apple and pear trees have been awesome for me...

    Stark Bros Sale

I picked up a Golden Russet apple for $18.16 with free shipping. Last apple I needed for my future cider collection. No idea about rootstock, but it said it was a semi dwarf. LOL.

    Whats under your Sleeve?

Planted Haralson, freedom, and big deer crab from St. Lawrence nursery. Also planted winter deer pear and sweet advent pear from Blue hill. Grafted 10 Antokova rootstock from blue hill, the rootstock was enormous, almost too big.

    Bush Cherry’s

I am interested as well. I have 4 Nanking in my yard, I made jelly last year and really enjoyed it. I'd love to get a bush with a bigger cherry like a Carmine jewel or Wowza

    johantorp pear

Mine is about the size of yours in your picture from 2023. No pears yet for me, but I've been pretty happy with the growth.

I am growing something a little similar. It's a late hanging Perry Pear called Butt. LOL I still giggle at the name.
