Movable Work Table

Tree Spud

5 year old buck +
Spent some time this past weekend building a workbench on casters. This will give me a work table that I can move around in the shop to different areas rather than trying to move stuff to my stationary work bench.

The top is 4' x 6' built with 3/4" plywood & 2"x 6" framing and supports.

Added 4" x 6" legs and a metal drawer holder.

Legs cross supports added & casters mounted.

Finished by adding 2" x 4" supports between the legs and some plywood for a lower shelf. Then added the bench vise.

Nice job. I have a plastic Rubbermaid roll around that gets lots of use.
That one is much more heavy duty.

Very nice! I have a movable workbench and love it.

Excellent craftsmanship there. Built to last no doubt.

I could use one of those.

Dumb question, spud, but what photo hosting site are you using to upload your pics to?

Photobucket is no longer very nice to use.

Thanks guys! Seems I never have enough flat work area surface where I need it.

I don't, I'm a bit old school. Laptop & thumb drive that I down load to from my phone. Figured "free" at places like Photobucket wouldn't last forever.

We lost a lot of great content here when they started charging.

It’s a nice table. Like the caster idea. Are you going to work on cars on it. Lol. Well built

That came out real nice!

I use mine all the time in my wood shop and for butchering and processing. I works great for larger projects. You can work on different parts without having to move the project. I can move the project aside if something else comes in more pressing.
I can get 4 guys cutting up deer or whatever and I screw my stuffer right to the top to secure it while stuffing sausage. Makes a decent bar to gather around as well.
It's 2' x 6' x 38" tall. Those dimensions fit my needs and my shop well. I have a fixed corner bench in the shop. I can clamp the moveable one to either end if I need the extended space, comes in handy at the miter saw cutting longer stock. I wired it for power as well. I wheel out into the driveway to plain lumber keeping the dust outside.

I did something very similar. It makes it nice to roll the table outside to work and not mess up the shop.

I want to make something like that but put a few burners on it for finishing syrup and canning. Anyone do that?
