What are you planting for habitat - Spring 2018?

72 Norway
72 Serbian
MG

Heh. I have lived in Norway and Serbia. No one ever mentioned the importance of their trees.

Is That just a twin sub soiler you're using? Or something you made? I do the same thing with pallet forks on skidder but very hard to keep nice and strait, yours is much better

It is just a cultivator. I took all the teeth off except 2 and spaced them at 3' I also put wide shoes on the bottom.

update on a swamp white oak planted Apr 2 2018. Can see in pic the amount of new growth. 20180520_115715.jpg

My goals are to transplant a bunch of willow cuttings to some wet areas, plant about 500 Norway spruce plugs, transplant some RODs, and plant/tube another hundred oaks. I’m also expanding my NWSG field where I ran out of switchgrass seed in February of ‘17.

Update: spruce plugs are in and showing new growth, work with the oaks is almost finished, and I’m about 70% successful with rod cuttings, and around 100% on willow. Looking at my wetland where the cuttings were placed, I’m also seeing a lot of volunteer cottonwood coming up too.

Oh yeah, I got about 40 hazelnuts established, both bareroot, and from nuts.
