Tree ID-Younger cottonwoods?

These look like trees that are on a bluff at our farm. Kind of have a black locust look although the ridges aren't quite the same. Picture this keeps calling them butternut trees on my farm. Interested on everyone's thoughts.
 
Look like black locust to me.
2nd possibility would be sassafras.
Definitely not butternut.
