Took the weedwacker out to farm and trimmed around all apple and spruce trees. Seen 1 fawn and 2 four yr old apple trees have apples forming. Winter rye/ clover is growing well.
The 2nd pic looks like one of the new growth stems is snapped off. Sometimes birds of one kind or another snip off young growth from various plants to line nests with. We used to have our tomato ends snipped off by birds. Does the rest of the tree look OK ?? From the pix it looks as thought the existing older leaves and twigs look healthy.
Our camp apple trees have had some aphids get on the very newest growth and they ended up curling from the sap getting sucked out of them, but it didn't hurt the tree overall.
