Opinions of See More Bucks website

I have been debating spending the $195 for membership of seemorebucks.com. I would be interested in any opinions of the videos and if the cost is in line with the information provided. Are any of you members of the site?

It's the first I've ever heard of them.

I think Steve Bartylla's latest book would be better value for offering a resource on "how to"
Not that I'd find fault in a guy spending $200 to get access to a video series. Heck a good set of camo costs that.

You too could be a millionaire...Hot cars...Hotter Girls...Swimming in bling!....For the low low price of just $195 you too could know the special secrets like "Buy low, Sell high" and many others... Just sign-up at makemorebucks.com!

PSTT I've got a bridge for sale I'll let you have really cheap.

I'm a junkie at knowledge like this but saw no value outside of what I have been mining on forums and youtube channels. The book by Bartylla is awesome and I really like Sturgis first book as well.

Experts who sell "the secret" to something are only experts at seperating a fool and their money ...

That would be the quickest debate in history in my mind. I wouldn't sign up for that for $1.95 much $195.00. You have all kinds of "expert" knowledge right at your fingertips on this forum(and a few others). Tons of videos by Steve Bartylla on his website for free and on the D & DH site and Facebook pages as well.

Steve's sight.........http://food-plots-for-deer.com/

Steve's Grow 'em Big Series on the D & DH site...............http://video.deeranddeerhunting.com/growem-big/

And if you have a question, you can ask it here and likely get an answer direct from Steve any time!

Jeff Sturgis has a bunch of this stuff on his site and YouTube channel for free as well.........http://www.whitetailhabitatsolutions.com/habitat-videos/

I have all 3 of Jeffs books, and like them. I just seem to be more of a visual learner. I also have Jims book about hinging and scent control.
I never see any videos or books that pertain to land that is wet. Everything I see has to do with land that is high and dry.

I've seen all of those, no detail, which may be an indication of what is on the paid side.

Does that include delivery? I could use a bridge.
You have paid for your knowledge, one way or another, whether you admit it or not.

I appreciate all the help I get here (it is a lot). That is one of the reasons I posed the question here.

That is why most hunters never successfully see & harvest bucks ... they are all obsessed with high land wooded areas.

If you want to learn how to hunt wetland areas for bucks, buy this DVD ... http://nextbukoutdoors.com/shop/hunting-marsh-bucks/

I think the key here more generally is sanctuary. Swamp is just a natural feature that creates sanctuary from man. Once hunting pressure builds, sanctuary in whatever form is the name of the game for mature bucks until the rut hits when all bets are off.

Dan is a good guy to listen to in regards to hunting in marshes. His website/forum has good info. He is a BEAST

I agree, but too many people generalize what sanctuary is. They come on sites like this and write down every habitat manipulation, monitoring, feeding, etc technique they can and then wonder why they don't see deer, especially bucks ...

It's real simple ... pressure moves bucks elsewhere ... doe's may not move, but at 3.5 years old, bucks will not respond favorably to activity & pressure. If you think you can create 10 acres of sanctuary on a 40 ... you are not being realistic. If you think you replicate on your 40, what someone does on 400 acres you are probably doing more harm than good.

Sanctuary means doing nothing ... hard to understand for the immediate gratification crowd ... learn your property and those surrounding you and how the deer use the greater landscape ...

Never heard of him. When I have some time I'm going to have to check some of his stuff out.

Thanks everybody for your replies. Improving my sanctuary areas is high on the to do list. Thanks for the link to dans website, I had not heard of it. Sometimes I suffer from paralysis of analysis, and am always looking for something better. The help I receive from this site has taught me more in the last few months than I learned in the past 5 years.

Very well said. All of the habitat improvements I can think of that create sanctuary are aimed at restricting human access. So, creating sanctuary may be a short burst of doing something followed by long periods of doing nothing (avoiding access).

However, there are exceptions. One notable one is Fairfax County VA. There is no count in Virginia that has more P&Y entries than Fairfax. It is an very highly populated area. One reason for so many entries relative to other counties is age. There is virtually no firearm hunting in the county. There are very few true sanctuaries of any size that are not accessed by people. Mature bucks have figured out (like most deer in the area) where people are supposed to be and where they are not. I've watch deer ignore people cutting a lawn and feed right passed with no concern passing with a bow shot of the yard and then spook at 50 yards when the guy takes 3 steps out of his yard into the woodlot to empty his bag of grass clippings. Deer are amazing creatures.

Having said that you advice holds true for the 99% case. Great post!

Thanks,

Jack
