Establishing alfalfa with throw and mow

It's pretty hard to search the TNM thread so I am asking here. Is it possible to effectively establish alfalfa with TNM? I would mix it with rye, clover, and small burnett. I'm looking at a fall seeding. How early in the fall in south central Wisconsin?

It looks like you want it in 45 days before the first frost, I've added some when I plant my cereal grains around labor day but haven't had much luck with it coming back in the spring, I bet this is why.

Hmm, never tried alfalfa but it coincides with the dates I plant brassicas in that article. I always include clover with my brassicas.

I did tnm alfalfa and rye.Worked fairly good but rye was to thick and choked out some alfalfa.I did mine this spring.

I have alfalfa growing in my throw and mow plot, but I think it was a frost seeding into ladino and winter rye that had some thin spots.

I am adding some alfalfa into an existing clover plot this fall. It won’t be a true TNM but I’ll add it before I clip the clover around Labor Day.
