Arrowhead and other historic/pre-historic collections

I don't think I've ever seen one like that. Those bevels are wild. All the ones I find come to an edge from both sides.

I think highly used and resharpened points are almost always left hand beveled. I heard once that some types of Daltons were the only type that was right hand beveled.

I spoke to my nephew the other day about looking for arrowheads. He was out turkey hunting this afternoon and found this. He’s going to clean it up, measure it and send me a few more pics. Can any of you provide any information on this style? Age? Based on the video he sent me I think it’s 3-4” long. Thanks!

An amazing first find!

He must've been gently excavating around the edges. Probably only saw a portion of it exposed? The way it looks like it's in a shallow grave. Bet that was exciting!

We have only 1 dovetail in our family collection. Found by either my dad or grandpa.

Yes it was in a small washout partially exposed. I went and saw it in person last night and it is beautiful! It’s right at 3 1/4” long what kind of rock would it be? Any guesses on age? I’m in eastern Iowa if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Any tooth experts here? I was walking along a pond this morning (hoping to find an arrowhead) and spotted this. I had this pond built about 10ish years ago. This tooth would have been buried under several feet of dirt before that time. It's very heavy, possibly fossilized?
My first thought was it's a cow tooth but I wonder if it could possibly be bison?

I could get on board with a bison tooth, Hillrunner. Any more intel? Nice points Hoyt! The snapped base maybe a stilwell? Here's a broken 1 I found yesterday, just showing it because it's our local Starved Rock banded chert, a really nice material.

What can you guys tell me about this? It first just looked like just a rock, and then I notice it had a big hollowed out place for the thumb and a flat spot for the index finger. Also there were smaller hollowed out places for the other three fingers. It seems like it would be handy for cracking nuts.

I posted the pictures to some fossil/bone experts and I'm told it's bison. It's not as cool as all the arrow heads you guys find but I still think it's neat.

I’ve been finding a pile of flakes near the tops of a couple ridges as well as what I assume to be fire rock. I’ve been asking all the good ‘ole boys about artifacts and finally came across my first one while intentionally looking tonight. It’s broke, but still satisfying finding one while targeting them. Can anyone tell me any specifics about it?

Below are also a couple things I’ve found that I’m wondering if they’re just natural or potentially worked. Would the brown piece be pottery? IMG_9193.jpegIMG_9194.jpegIMG_9195.jpegIMG_9192.jpegIMG_9191.jpegIMG_9190.jpegIMG_9184.jpeg

Congrats on the point Williams, looks like it is probably a Table Rock. I don't think your other piece is pottery, looks like it was ground and worked. Don't know what it was, broken gorget?
