In December when snow is on the ground I will see grouse at my apple trees feeding on the apples. When they flush, they typically just fly to the nearest pine tree and sit there on a branch. They are waiting for me to leave so they can continue with their feeding.
Great pics. I grew up in Milwaukee and I know right where they were taken.
