Wireless Cams

Any advice on wireless cams? I have a few spots I would really like to keep tabs on without disturbing it to check cameras. For the most part I put them in easy access locations where I don't disturb things too much checking them every 3 weeks or so, but there are 2 locations I'd like to try wireless because the only time I want to go to these spots is to hunt.

I'd like to find one for around $300 bucks, but from looking around it looks like 400-500 is where they are priced. I'd prefer a deal where I can pay for the months of August, January and not have a fee the rest of the year for data.

Around $300 you are most likely going to be using a Covert special ops. I run 4 of them and it will probably cost you anywhere from $10 -$20 a month depending on you cell provider. My cams are all on AT&T so you need to make sure you get AT&T service where you want to put them. I think they are coming out with one on the Verizon network soon. I also use the Reconyx cell cams but you can buy 4 Coverts for the price of the Reconyx but the Reconyx is a much better quality camera

FYI AT&T sucks in the general area south of Eau Claire..don t have any 4G coverage, but text message do work which may be enough to send pics from the camera

Yes AT&T service is no good where I am. I'll have to look into the coverts.

I used a ltl acron for a bit but got terrible service. Maybe one out of every 10 pics would get sent to me. I now just use it as a regular camera. Maybe try the buckeye?

We have 2 of the Spartan SR-1 3G wireless trail cams n just love em! Ours is AT&T service but they do make 1for Verizon service also!
