Winch for a Polaris 450 sportsman

Hello.

I want a winch that detaches with a 2 inch receiver I want it to have a wired remote/ wireless remote.

For ice fishing. I’m thinking of having it stored in my monster box. I also plan on batteries to run it in the monster box.

I’m confused about where to find the proper gauge of wire and what quick detaches to use.

If you are detaching the cables each time I would use jumper cables if long enough. if not use welding cable

I use #4 wire to my 1500lb winch. I also use these connector. PRetty sure mine are the 175a, but the 50amp ones probably would be ok to.

I assumed my 1500lb winch uses 50amps. Also added a 50a circuit breaker too. Probably OK on 2500lb winches with the #4 wire. #6 would be ok, but had #4 on hand.

These quick connectors can double to connect other things, like sprayers or other 12v stuff.

MY winch is permanent to my honda ATV. However, I still disconnect it so its reliable. Stuff exposed to the elements and wired to DC gets corrosion quick. Leave it unwired and the connector stay good alot longer. Probably use that winch 1 or 2 times a year.
