I have a waterfowl plot that I flood corn. Last year was the first year I had cocklebur and boy did it come on strong.
This year I got my pesticide license and put down atrazine, dual and spartan pre-plant on roundup corn. I used the pre plant labeled rates and planted April 18th. Corn grew fast so I had to get its second app of atrazine down before the corn got 12 inches tall and used glyphosate also (I had cocklebur coming up). It knocked it all out and field looks good. Now corn is near shoulder high and we had a wet May and I have cocklebur again.
I guess I’ll have to live with it for the year but is there anything I can do better to knock this stuff out? Does no-till help some?
