I obviously can't speak for them, but we run cattle and I know what I would do. The best fence in the world is only one fallen tree limb from being the worst. These things happen. I can say with great confidence though, we would have them home by now. Maybe they don't know you have seen them? And I never thought of a crop damage payment, but I would offer to buy next year's seed for you. But we also try to be easy to get along with, and I can't say the same for all of my neighbors. I would for sure reach out and see if you can find the owner. Cattle prices being what they are, I can assure you they want them back.

My plan in order, if the problem persists, is to-
1.notify the owners I want them off my land
2. Notify authorities
3. Take matters into my own hands
I will say that the co-owner of my property doesn't seem to be as lenient on this list and the order.
They have not walked in front of any cell cams for over a week now, fwiw.

Went to a meat raffle at dinner tonight. And won one of the last two items available. I dont know what I won. It's beef and packed by Tyson foods.....but I am unsure what I won. The raffle folks didn't know either. It's about 2 lbs....and has some nice marble through it. Wonder if its a brisket? or flank steak? Ideas?

A meat raffle is a very big weekly event at many of the local bars / grills. Usually held at supper time.....they are sponsored by a snowmobile club or a hockey club or many other clubs that use the proceeds to do some good things for the community. Local meat markets supply the meat at a fair price to these clubs....whom work with the bars to do the event. The bars like it as they fill up their place with customers.....and you buy tickets for the raffle at usually $1 each. Most people buy $5 or $10 worth of tickets. Then they call off numbers and the winners select what they want. Typically they hold 4 to 6 different raffles with 4 or five winners each time. I bought $10 worth of tickets for the last event.....and won a $20 cut of meat. Win / Win.
The sponsor for my event was a 4 wheeler club that maintains some trails nearby. I suppose they earned a few hundred dollars with the raffle. These events are normally very well attended and the bars like having them.....as it draws in new customers.
On any given night of the week....you could likely attend 2 or 3 meat raffles within a 30 mile radius of where I live. They work to attract people.

Note: We decided to treat this cut of meat like a roast.....and my wife put it into a crock pot and cooked it over several hours. Turned out wonderful and very flavorful......much lie a beef roast. It's just too bad the supplier did not identify the cut of meat that it was. ??? Kinda dumb.
In the past we have won some fantastic Rib Eye steaks and other steaks and sausage, etc. This also promotes the meat suppliers products....and that makes them better known to more customers too. I suppose the raffle event is drawn out over about 1.5 hours and almost everyone is there for dinner and drinks. A good time is had by all.
I dont think any of the meat suppliers try to provide anything but the best here.....as that could spoil their reputation. All good products and all for the greater good.
