What is this tree (south central Kansas)?

Catscratch

5 year old buck +
Anyone know what this is? There was a thicket of them, 10'-15' tall. Lots of berries/fruits on them. One large black seed in each fruit.

Sorry but my CRS is acting up

Did the bushes have any thorns on them?

Golden Curent?

No apparent thorns (I didn't look close as traffic was an issue while I ran across the highway to grab a branch and get back to my car). It was suggested today that it could be soapberry. A quick Google search shows that soapberry isn't real valuable for wildlife so I hope that is wrong, but would make since that nothing is eating them because the trees are still loaded with fruit this late into winter.
