On my hunting land, like a lot of us, the phone reception isnt the best. On a good day outside I have 2-3 bars of LTE, but it will switch to 4G, and drop to 1 bar outside. Well I built a steel shop, and as soon as I walked into the shop my phone would go to “no service”.
I have done some researching online for awhile about cell boosters, and the reviews have been all over the place, and with such a variance in prices, anywhere from $9.95 to well over $1000, I didn’t want to waste my time or money on trial and error. A while back cspot said he had got one and it worked for him, so I pulled the trigger and got one myself. I bought the updated model of the one he recommended, model 470144.
To start I had zero reception in the shop at all. I started off walking around the Outside of the shop and seeing where reception was best, it was on the back side corner, I had 3 bars, everywhere else was 1-2 bars. I hooked up the weboost antennas inside and out, and the amplifier, plugged it in, and I had full reception inside the shop. I tested it out by tethering Netflix to my tv, and it played a movie without buffering. I called and talked to people, and it was crystal clear. I played Pandora for several hours, walking around to all over the shop, including upstairs and all worked well.
I can’t speak for the longevity of the weboost, but it is working above my expectations as far as performance, and ease of installation. I figured with so many of us out in the boonies, others may be interested in it. It was a bit expensive, but still cheaper then having to get Satellite internet for $160 a month with a 2 year contract. They have a 30 day money back guarantee, Incase it does t work in your situation.
