Video of trail & plot

I tilled the plot today and seeded with Buckwheat & AWP's & picked some rocks. The tiller does a good job of bringing them up. Most were hardball size but a few basketball size one were also found. The seeding was done by hand so by the end of the day I put on 5.97 mile according to the pedometer on my phone. I also took a video of the trail to the plot and the plot. The video isn't the best but trying to do with the phone while driving was interesting in some spots.

When you raise the trails you create 'dams' where water can't leave. Do you use culverts or? I have gone as small as 4 inch PVC with a dirt mound on top and it helps. Low spots I have used 2 to 4 inch trees cut and laid perpendicular to trails with fill on top with good luck.

I do want to be able to get to the plot any time of the year. The first year I owned the place g4etting to where I wanted to put the plot was a nightmare.

Buddy I had out told me that if the water pools on the side your road can not dry out and will always rut because it is soft. I put the cheap pipe in with culverts in the real bad spots and life is better. Just a thought if you have issues 'down the road'. :D:rolleyes::mad:

You've don't allot of trail work. Nice job Tooln!

(My sandy soils allow me to drive on my trails right after a rain. Seldom any wet spots for more than a few hours.)

You can come over to my mud hole trails. It too wet to even woork on them. I probably will not take my tracks off my gator.

Pipes or culverts really wouldn't help in my case. They are just low spots in the woods. Doing the way I am at least one side will be dry. If I put pipes or culverts in both sides would hold water. Crowning the trail or angling one way or the other is working best for me.

I've had the same experience as bat man, with water pooling up when I raise up a road. 2 of my Lowest spots I have 100 square foot mini ponds that holds all the run off. All other locations have pvc culverts, some as small as 2"s. Had one plug up and it started ruining the road.
Water is an extremely powerful thing, and it will do what it wants. Hope it works for u toolin, they look good.
I generally stay off of my roads, and haul most stuff by cart. That keeps the vegetation growing, so when I have to use them a couple times a summer, they are stabilized. I pound them hard logging when they are frozen, and they can take it haha
