too late to topwork?

IS it too late to topwork an apple tree? Bumped into some of the winter wildlife / AWHO scions I couldn't find during round 2 or grafting. Should I make the buds swell in water, then graft. They were in the fridge, but cut ends were sealed.

I’d still give it a try but leave a lower branch in case it doesn’t take.
