To plant or Not To plant before storm?

CC, looks as if the high areas germinated very well. They should fill in nicely if we don't get another rain storm come through. Did the low areas have standing water in them?

There was a mix of high dry, middle ground it great germ and a little standing water with no germ. Gonna hit thin spots next week. Most bare spots have seed waiting to germinate with rain

Hindsight, I'd do it again right after rain. Especially clover, it still small but great and even germination

For the last few years, it seems as if we get hammered with one or two 6+ incher tropical storms or hurricanes during September and October. We plant and hope for the best but know to hold on to some seed in case we have to overseed. We put in some brassicas back in August and they got drown and I reseeded a week before Hermine and haven't been back to check on the plots because I know what happened. We are going to put in our rye, oats and clover plots this week and hope we don't get any more HUGE storms. Good Luck with your plots and post some PICS next spring of the clover growth. Here's a couple of PICS of a Durana plot, that we started last fall, that were taken in May of this year.

Thought I took a closeup picture of the rye sprouting only a few hours after rain but can't find it. I was shocked at the amount of seed that on Saturday was unsupported, then tonight was putting down roots
