Tips and Ideas for a Walk-In Cooler

If it were me I would hate to see that 3 acres and the house sold. I would do everything I could to buy it.

Anybody see someone use a large standup freezer. Most an be turned low and used as a refrigerator. Was thinking of getting one for 7 or 8 hundred bucks at home depot and putting a few hooks on the top. Hang leg quarters.

Of course but building your dream home and having the money leftover to buy another isn't something even the upper class can really afford to do all at once. If the timing was different and it could be turned into a rental or something, sure. But when you build your dream forever home you tend to go pretty all in too.

Is what it is.

I get it. Money will always be a limiting factor in almost everything we do. Good luck with everything.

We actually have 2 standup freezers. The idea for this project is more of a walkin cooler for fruit and early season deer. You for sure cannot hang a deer in a 11 cubic foot freezer, and if you were to quarter, you want it cool, not frozen.

The one I had in mind was bigger than that, birddog just brought up that one for discussions. Quarters in fine with me. Only 1 really eating venison here. oldest kid hunts, but barely and only rifle. Shot a deer 3 years ago, sat in my fridge till it was almost rotten. I cleaned up the quarters myself. Wanted to "see" it done.........
