Timing is everything in deer hunting

Native Hunter

5 year old buck +
Our 2 day early Muzzleloader season was yesterday and today. Our target for this hunt was the old freaky racked deer that I have posted pics of here before.

The first pic is what we had in the main plot the first afternoon. The second pic is the same spot 35 minutes before dark the day BEFORE season opened. LOL, better luck next time.

PS: We passed a shot at the old saddle backed 8 that I posted a pic of recently. Decided to let the old boy go a little longer. Good news is I'm now covered up with does for the upcoming rut. We counted 9 different ones.

All those pretty ladies will have the boys snooping around for sure!!!
I passed a nice 3 year old 8 yesterday. It was tough! Hope we don't regret it Ehh lol
This mature buck hunting is tough with the bow an arrow

Indeed it is tough. I hope you see that deer again exactly a year from now!

Good luck on him. Looks like a nice white blind in the background.

Thanks.

I have 6 old buildings in that area that could all be used as blinds. Just to the left of the pictures in that grass field I have a tower blind. It's a good place to hunt with a ML or gun, because you can get in and out without ever being detected.

With a good crop of does , the odds look good for seeing a big fella - whether it's a local known buck or a roamer from a ways off. Good luck Native !!
