The hero we don’t deserve

For the record, I loved the reference and thought it was pretty funny.

AWESOME!!! Tommy Shaw is right down the road playing with Styx tonight and the wife and I couldn’t pull the trigger on it. I love Styx, I must be getting old!

Love Styx, & Journey is playing now ! Beers are cold !🥶 🍺

Styx is awesome!! But we should really dissect some of their lyrics!. Might not be pc for some

Bison roast tomorrow, & ribs on Saturday. So many people in town. This 4th is rocking !

Still hung up on the lyrics and not his on camera admission (also in this thread) for being with an underage girl?

Yeah......

Anyone here listen to 2 Live Crue? Metoo...

Anyhow, offensive and controversy sells.

From what I see, the state and modern hunters are ruining it. I took hunters Ed over 40 years ago. They played a film (literal film) that depicted the future if people are not ethical hunters. One bullet, one tag, one lifetime.

Seems it was pretty accurate.

Wish I could back and hunt the Wyoming range in 2006!
Aint that the truth. But...you can never go back. (sad to say) So much has changed in such a short time.

Probably one of the best hunts of my life. I spent 2 days in a drop camp glassing before finding a real mule deer. Watched him bed, marked the spot and brought my father in law back before light.

Sun came up and the bed was empty. We waited 2 hours. All of a sudden he showed up. I told my father in law that’s him! He got ready and shot, then we saw nothing. On our way down I asked FIL how big he thought the deer was. He said “I have no idea, you told me to shoot”.

Typical 5 point “10”. 210 inches.

I think it was the first time he really appreciated that I married his daughter. 🤣

Geez that's a monster! Rack makes his hands look tiny. Bet that was fun to drag out, lol. Cool pic, thanks.
I was a young man then. We cut him up right there. Deboned and carried heavy backpacks of meat out. I’ve got enough WY points built up to hunt just about anywhere. Keep reapplying to keep them. But I’m not sure I want to or can do that again. But even if you’re not hunting. There is nothing like waking up in the mountains of the Wyoming range. Nothing!

Once thought I was the only person to step foot on a stone. Looked down and found a wooden arrow and a bear broadhead. I left it there…. It’s all been walked on. By some but only by a few

Some of those red desert late season hunts are pretty mild from a strenuousness standpoint Bill! Lots of glassing from/near trucks over open sage. I'm not sure where they are with point requirements now but I'd sure look into it if I were you!

Newberg did a 5 episode series on his hunt out there a little while back. Deer populations are hurting a bit in western WY but I'd bet you'd have fun and still look over a bunch of deer. I've got 10ish points now and could get a region G or H tag but I'm going to split them with another fella, likely in '27. Hoping to split his elk points next fall as I burned mine in '23.
