Tactacam's new camera

I use whatever the low end tactacams are at the time of purchase. I probably have some close to five years old. Had two give of the ghost out of ten. They are out year round. I agree - the HD request thing is sketchy at best. Used to work great - not any more. I dont complaint too much - $100 cameras staying outside for 1500 days straight and still working

My cameras are usually mounted up in trees, though I get more and better pictures with cams mounted low. Lately I've my non cell cameras, I've started mounting low. They're all too spread out now to drag a ladder to them. My cameras are out 365, some have been out for 6-7 years straight now, never any water issues. The drown Reveal 3 pro made it 9 months.

The idea of building little roofs for them has crossed my mind after this experience.

They're going to replace it with a refurbished one for $20, but then what?
That's the option I chose on the RMA form. Now that they have my camera, determined what we already knew, that's suddenly not on the list of options anymore? Hmmm...

Just saw this and realized I never updated it. I chose the option of the $20 referb, but as above the email they sent didn't list that as an option. I sent a reply to them, perhaps a bit snippy, pointing this out. They responded quickly saying that was fine and that I'd be very happy with that choice. No fuss no muss, I guess that's just another attempt by them to get you to spend money, conveniently failing to mention that option.

They sent me a cam and a battery pack about a week later. I powered them up but haven't done anything with them yet.
Funny, my main plan is up for renewal on the 28th. Originally I signed up for the highest unlimited plan, not sure how many pics I'd really get. When I added the 2nd or 3rd cam I dropped it to the mid tier plan. Realizing that was even more than I needed, two days ago I dropped to the lowest entry plan. And of course since then the usually quiet cams have exploded with activity. lol

As for the new streaming video model. It streams for I believe 2 minutes, then shuts down to cool down or something. So the "stream live video" claim isn't a lie, but it's less than up front about reality.
