"How long do I have to request video?" The internet seems to want to tell me that I can request a video any time. That is true, I can request a video any time. But if I want to RECEIVE that video, I have to request it intermediately, within a couple minutes of receiving the photo at most. If a second photo comes in, even immediately after the first, the chances of my getting the first video are slim. (I also wonder if these unfulfilled requests are counting and they're costing me money) Does everyone deal with this issue or is mine just funky?
Another minor, not terribly important grumble is the temperature reading. Every "dumb" camera I've ever owned, even the very oldest of them, the unit took the temperature. So I got accurate temps (all be it months later). The Tactacam would appear to be getting them from the internet. The reason you have to put in a zip code, so they can give you the wind and the temps. The problem with this is the temps are wrong. I did some digging a few years back and found where the online temperature comes from. Like when I go on the Weather Channel Ap, it says my town's temp, but it's really coming from another town. (which is understandable, can't get info from everywhere) The problem with this is the town it gets it from is near 20 miles away and 800+ feet lower in elevation. Comparing in person readings with the internet in winter, it can be as much as 5-10 degrees colder. But the cam temps always match the net temps, so I know they're wrong. Part of the reason I got a cell cam in the first place was to get snow accumulation and temp info on site. But it's not to be. (sigh)
