Decent mast year here this year. I have shipped over 100 lbs of acorns to the nurserymen who usually contract for my low-tannin acorns, but will still have quite a bit left, if someone is looking for bulk quantities.
'McDaniel' burXEnglish hybrid, from grafted trees in my collection (see pic of acorns). Large acorn, low tannin, drops from the cap, bears annually. First one the deer come for here in the yard.
This one is just about finished dropping, but I'll probably have at least 5-6 gallon bags (avg. wt. ~6lbs) left when all is said and done
'Mid-MO #1' bur oak. A very low tannin selection I made out of a batch of seedlings I brought to KY from the Rocheport MO area when we moved here. Fairly large acorn, drops mostly free of cap, annual producer. I'm talking really low tannins... ate one yesterday, and later in the day, I peeled a Dunstan chestnut I'd just picked up... the acorn was sweeter/less astringent than the chestnut.
$10/lb; prefer to ship in gallon quantities, but will consider parceling out 1# aliquots.
