Stock Market is the bottom in?

Isn't the demand for this type of oil used for making asphalt and diesel high?
Right now a lot of sour crude we refine in our country comes from the Alberta tar sands area. So if the idea is to replace Canada oil with Venezuela oil, I guess that's an option.

It would be nice for the Texas and Louisiana refineries that can use this type of oil to bring these across the gulf. The tanker, Skipper, that we took is in Galveston bay right now. What else is there, is one of the largest coking units for refining that type of oil.

I agree with SD, I don't think we are short on oil right now...but if we can use someone else's oil instead of our own, that definitely carries some national security advantages
The nice thing about sour crude is it generally trades for ~$20 less/barrel than sweet crude so the refineries set up for refining it are competitively advantaged because their feed stock is much cheaper. If we keep "taking" tankers from Venezuela, that sour crude may be dirt cheap.

From what I've read, Venezuelan oil is sour crap which is why we're likely going to have to declare Guyana a terror state and overthrow their government and install an approved leader that will do what our handlers tell us to tell them to do. Then we can get their light sweet and mix it with the sour crap and make decent crude out of it.

Oil isn't oil. Different types of oils are needed for different purposes. And, different plants are setup to refine the diffent types. Venezuela still owes some of these American companies billions of dollars from when they were thrown out. Executives from a few of these companies just recently met with Trump.

I believe so. They are pumping about 20% of what they used to, and China is buying most of it.

We already produce light sweet shale oil far cheaper than we can get it from Guyana.

We may not need the oil from Venezuela but it looks to me like slamming the door on China is pretty important. Those friendless bastards are up to no good everywhere they go.

Why we need the heavy, sour oil:

I was going to grab CVX last year at $140....and I didn't....went to 150 and hovered around there since

Wow, attacking christian nations in South America is really good for my portfolio.

Unusual Machines UMAC and American Battery ABAT on a tear for me. ABAT up 26% today! Both were stocks I saw politicians were buying up.

What's funny is when Biden and the other democrats talked about removing maduro no one came on here complaining. But because someone with the first letter T and ends with rump did it, all of a sudden it's a bad idea.

I’m not sure I’d say we attacked a Christian nation. I’d maybe say we attacked the fortified hideout of a confirmed bad guy. Turns out we smoked a few Cubans that were a little too far from home. Too bad, so sad.

Nobody is crying for maduro. Not even the leftiest of the lefties are.

I think it’s weird that all the memes are about what Clinton and Obama did while ignoring the most obvious parallel- GH Bush snatching Noriega. Just more team politics I guess.

We have been needing to pay more attention to South America for a lot of reasons but Chinas Belton Road initiative is a big one.

Just like everything else the Biden administration did, they just talked about doing the work. They didn’t do the work. I think that’s why everyone yawned when they talked about Maduro

Which sites do you find best to follow the politicians? When I have tried before my information is too outdated to do any good. Thanks for your help
