Stock Market is the bottom in?

I talked with my financial advisor on Monday and he was gently pushing me towards looking into some foreign stocks but nothing in particular. Mainly because I am heavy in US stocks...but to me US is better than anything foreign even though it has been wonky lately. Like you I could maybe see some Japanese stock or some other Asian country having something...but in no way could it be better that S&P 500 or my Blue Chip Tech stock that has done so well.

I'm up 15K one day down 25K the next, today it looks good...it will smooth out. Sooner than later our stock market is going to take off again, I have faith it will push or hit 50 this year. After that I may make some adjustments.
I love ZIM that's a good foreign one, otherwise yes, I don't do anything foreign but I feel more comfortable with 'Merica.

I just bought some TSLA. Hoping it's at the bottom now. Was around $450 not that long ago.

It was at $220 shortly before that though too. It got pumped up after the election. Now I feel like it's coming back to earth. It could definitely go back up though. He's certainly in a position to do big things for himself and Tesla.

I really have no idea what it's going to do. I do think it's more than just a car company and I believe Elon will keep working on new technology. Time will tell.

I think it's a good stock to buy personally. I don't have any extra cash right now. It's got to be close to bottoming out.

I think TSLA hasn't had the best earnings for a few quarters now but they still have a decent percentage of the EV market. Competitors were gaining some of that market share which is to be expected. Not everyone wants the exact same thing. I think some of tesla's competition will not be around in the long run and then tesla gets back some market share by default. I thought tesla already was getting paid by the competition for use of their fast charging stations that others decided to give up making their own and just pay tesla. Elon has done so much already and who really knows what else he'll come up with.

Nvidia had a good report, solid forecast. I’m not sure it’s enough to get the market excited .

Unfortunately, NVDA was gonna stay about even with a great forecast and reports...or, it was going to be an excuse to send it back into the red. They had a great report, great forecast, etc...couldn't have asked for better. But, it still didn't impress us 🤣

Trump Dump in full effect

Just have to hold tight and weather the storm the way it's looking today.

I'll take "THE RAPIST" for $400 Alex. Not looking to debate what we were told to believe in our history of who accomplished what really. Just glad that maybe we are heading the right direction in cutting frivolous spending and getting even trade deals with the rest of the world now. We can't keep digging a bigger hole for future generations in my opinion. Nothing personal just my .02 which has little to no value.
I wasn't told to believe anything about those events our history, nor was anyone who was alive in those years to see it for themselves. I got to see those things happen myself - with my own eyes - as they happened. Some of those events happened in front of live TV cameras - lots of them - so denying they happened is a non-starter. Re-writing history - or trying to - is impossible. No politician or televised "talking head" on either side will tell me I didn't see and hear what I've seen & heard myself. Facts are facts - there are no exceptions. Nothing personal here either, J.

For anyone who wasn't alive or old enough back in the 1980's / 1990's, I'll answer those questions I asked above that no one seems to want to answer - especially the guys old enough to have watched them happen. Or maybe they've benefitted from running offshore to another country.

Calling a market crash?
Definitely not a crash, but I think a correction is incoming. I don’t think the market is taking favorable to a lot of of his policies. I’m not arguing against them. I’m just theorizing on what I think is happening in the market. If these policy start showing positive responses economically obviously the market will take off like a rocket. But in the meantime, I think there is a lot of scared money out there.

Anybody know what's going on with microstrategy? They have been dropping like a rock for a good week now.
They're a play on crypto, so expect volatility, I guess. I noted mutual fund at Vanguard dropped them recently, FWIW.

My point was that going back that far to blame anyone for anything won't do us any good in fixing the current problems is all I was getting at. Can't change what already happened and surely can't dismiss it either but we need to get things going the right way now.

I think panic drives a lot of the moves in the market.

Absolutely. Just as animal spirits can make it rise. I don’t think a lot of people have faith in the direction right now, right or wrong. For the record I like the direction. I care more about the country than winning in the market.

SMFG has been a good Japanese stock for me.

NOG is at a 52 week low. 5 % dividend

This is just a question / observation - and not directed only at you, J. Just conversation ....

How can anyone trash populations around the world for going to EV's, giving up their gas vehicles - and then cheer Tesla for having a good market share producing those very same EV's?? And for those EV's to even function on the road - aren't multiple charging stations required across the country = American jobs installing them?

And my point is - why did the U.S. government (and a certain Republican president Ronnie Reagan) back then grease the wheels nation-to-nation to allow / speed up the race offshore?? Reagan made that speech I referred to back a few posts. That's when the "free trade" (cheap labor) agreements began between countries. And they continued at a rapid pace under the Bush's. "W" signed a pile of those "free trade" (cheap labor) agreements when his term was about to expire. Facts - not an opinion. I'm not against manufacturing coming back to the U.S.A. - - - - I was against it leaving back in the 1980's and 1990's in the first place. But one needs to know who started - and then sped up - the abandoning of the U.S.A. to move manufacturing offshore. Some folks today believe it was the Dems who engineered those moves offshore ....... it was NOT.
