Spotty Fruit Set - and a bit of a cabin report

My orchard is only a few years old but it was loaded with blooms this year. I pinched most of them off. I had two pear trees in full bloom that I let go. One tree was hit hard with the weather and had a lot of leaves blacken and fall of along with all the flowers. The other showed no signs of stress and still only produced a single pear. Pollination issues maybe?

I think Apple Junkie probably answered my question. There is not doubt we didn’t have cold enough temps to harm the trees, BUT as I think about it I suspect there was poor pollination. I have an ornimental cherry tree next to the farm house. It is always loaded with bees about the mid point of my apple blooms and there were very few bees there this year.
