Something in the old corn field...

I know very little about plants, and need a good plant ID book. This is in a previous years corn field where I now have frost seeded switchgrass. There's not a ton of it. Just enough to get me curious about spot spraying with some 24D, if that won't hurt the switch. IMG_4210.JPG

I have read several places that 2, 4-D can injure young switch. That being said, if it were me I would take the chance to get ahead of it. You can also look into Duracor. I used that last year and took out a bunch of ragweed trying to smother new switch. Worked very well.

Thanks guys! I don't know if it's real invasive but if it spreads fast it could really blanket and snuff things out.

Common Chickweed. I see it every spring in corn stubble.

I doubt it will hurt the switch but if it’s bugging you gly will kill it if the switch hasn’t germinated yet.

Ain’t bothered me none! Only seeing it on the high slopes on south facing sides which I’m wanting to be bedding anyhow. Thanks.
