Regenerative Engineering Problem

SD51555

5 year old buck +
I have a $1,000 bill from the dealer trouble shooting my water pump / low coolant / overheating problem on my four wheeler. Turns out I plugged my radiator fins with organic debris from all my regenerative work in the plots.

Two things did it. First, I think the flail mower discharged a lot of dust right into the cooling fins. Second, when I drag my packer thru 7’ tall vegetation to roll down my dead covers, it’s a mess of seed and chaff and dust.

I still need to roll that stuff somehow, but without running 12 tons of dry material down with my radiator taking the brunt of it as the shit flies all directions.

I’ve pondered running it down first with my mower (deck not running) just to flatten it 90% of the way, then finish with the wheeler and packer. I’m worried that might tear up the fanny pack transmission my little Toro mower has. Any other ideas how to get this jungle flattened without destroying my equipment?

Maybe I can get my neighbor to come pull the packer with his little tractor? That shouldn’t be a huge lift.

Can you wash off the radiator on a regular basis - or fashion a removable screen in front of the radiator that catches a lot of the debris.

Can you mount a front loader bucket on your tractor and use that for the initial knock down? Would still be dusty but no direct vegetation impact on radiator

I’ve considered window screen. Not sure how well that would work.

I’ve only got a wheeler. Neighbor has the tractor, but yes, he does have a bucket.

I bring a air compressor and use a 12" long thin nozel to clean radiator every so often. Need to do JD every so many hours also.
