Livesintrees

5 year old buck +
So last year I was so busy with the home purchase that I only hunted three days in September. Got a doe and my season was done. Buying and selling and all the crap involved burned all my time. Anyway the season before I shot a good buck. While he was dying I had a droptine buck with stickers everywhere come in and proceed to slam into his side. I stood there stunned and in utter disbelief that it happened. Moreso that had I waited 60 more seconds I woulda had a shot at the droptine. Long story short nobody believed me. And I guess I can’t blame them. I saw the buck 3 more times that week but never in range. Never had a picture of him before. And even with 11 cameras he somehow managed to literally walk between them and never trigger one. Unreal. So now last year as said above I didn’t hunt basically. 11 cameras out as per usual. I had one cam setup watching a ladder stand we have because someone stole some bow hooks over the summer. Well wouldn’t you know not one of those cameras set out to “catch deer” got a picture of the droptine either. I couldn’t believe it. So the last cam I called the thief cam was the last to check. Figuring I may as well get aggravated after I checked the good stuff. What are the chances that this camera got a picture of the buck. One time only, on a Saturday when I would be there sitting in it. From what I can tell last year he was a wide dark racked 8 no kickers that I can tell
with a 10-12” drop off his left main beam. Top 3 best deer I’ve ever seen in this state where I hunt. And the only drop. Here’s the 8 I killed two years ago. And here’s the picture of he droptine. This place is blah most of the season, but when October 20 rolls around it gets hot and stays hot in last December. I identified 27 different bucks not counting spikes an baskets. You bet I’ll be out there this year!69CE3562-74C9-445A-B9BD-96A1427E11A7.jpeg964B263C-4B27-4F9F-9D39-2DF45ECF7F95.jpeg19E1E42E-C6A2-4D84-A5FD-59E65A4E0E68.jpeg95FBF96C-79CC-4FD0-90EF-AD3A2D1FAB5F.jpeg32602408-CEF5-4F4A-8B37-CE3866182E1C.jpeg

Both nice bucks. Heck of a droptine. Looks to be the longest tine.

That's a great looking mount and that droptine buck is very cool! Good luck with him this year!!

I wish I had a better picture to get an idea on what he rough scored last year. I hope he returns this season somehow with all those stickers. They COVERED his rack

He's a nice one for sure.
Certainly has his stay puff marsh mellow November body on.
