Planting pear tree late December zone 7a

My son is coming home on leave for Christmas and wants to purchase me a couple of pear trees. Do you think it will be ok to plant them in zone 7a then.

I don't think you'll have a problem Todd. Chuck planted several pears last year on our place the week after Christmas and they have done fine. I think we're in zone 7a as well. I spent all yesterday planting apple, pear, and chestnuts there as a matter of fact. Good luck with your planting.

Yeah I did plant 8 pears, 1 crab apple, and two au buck chestnuts, all leafed out and have done well this year.
