Pigeon Grass in Clover Plot

hManSD

Yearling... With promise
Last year we planted a clover plot for the first time. We've been doing food plots for a very, very long time, however, have never planted clover before. The area we planted it in has a big pigeon grass (technically galled green foxtail) problem and I am looking for some type of chemical that will kill the grass but not the clover.

Clethodim.
Less the crop oil, unless you spray before it gets real warm. Clover will burn from crop oil if it's hot.

But foxtail is tough. It may take several applications. If the clover is doing OK I like to wait until it's the hot part of summer Spray cleth mixed with a real good shot of dawn dish washing detergent as the replacement sticker for the oil.

When the temps cool the clover will bounce and the grass should be smoked.
