Clover plot dying

ACCMan

5 year old buck +
I had a beautiful clover plot that is dying in large spots. I sprayed with clethodim to kill the grass and that did great, but that was 6 weeks ago. We have had ample rain so I don't think that is the problem. We had the largest hatch of June bugs this year I've seen in my 74 years, so, I suspect they laid eggs and the grubs are eating the clover roots. Have any of you experienced this before?

What type of clover?

Might be. immacloprid or carbyl/sevin is commonly used to control grubs. However, you might be harming bees pretty bad. Not sure on that one.

Did the clover get flooded for a few days? In my clay 5-7 days of really wet or flooded and clover dies, grasses is like 3-5. Usually just reapply clover in flooded areas or small grains.

I always got a plan B supply of rye and / or oats and medium red and ladino clover. whitetail clover has berseem and improved ladino. The berseem is that inital wow its growing good

No flooding at all and I hate to put out insecticide. The plot is four years old, so maybe I'll just replant this fall.
