Have a few trees just starting to produce. Had this same problem last year but wrote it off to excessive heat in the spring and thought the tree was just aborting fruit. Except it is back and conditions were pretty good this spring.

Seems to be taking out 70% of the crop.

Any info appreciated

Could be fireblight.

Could be fireblight.
Kinda what I was thinking, but the branch tips or leaves never show any symptoms. Stays contained to the fruit sets.

I’d look at blossom end rots if no other sign of fireblight.

Fruit trees are most susceptable to fireblight when it enters through the open blossom.

And Keifer DO get fireblight!!!!

Pear midge maybe is the small fruit hollow or is there a small maggot in it?

Could be FB, when I have seen FB here it goes after the whole branch. Looks like it's just aborting fruit from some kind of stress, either heat or to dry.

Looks like normal June drop fruit to me

Or Blossom Blast.

Don’t rule out Rust. Most people only associate rust with apples and think of its classic appearance on leaves; however, It can destroy some young pear fruit.64EA9311-AF35-4807-837C-800FA28F55AE.jpeg333909DB-2AAE-42AE-8BD7-D17FFB6DADD7.jpeg
