Pear buds getting fat already

I was out pruning some pear trees today. I was surprised to see some buds starting to split on my Doc's Special trees. The Trophy pear buds are getting fat and some other varieties are still fully dormant.
I'm in SW Pa.

Pretty sure our spring has started... this week's forecast...

I need to get out and do some pruning soon, supposed to be in the low 60's for a high the next week here.

Same here. I usually prune in March, but these temps. have me spooked. I'm gonna head for camp this week and get pruning. I have promised some scion to a couple guys and I want to get it done before dormancy breaks. Too warm - too soon. I smell late frost / freeze probs.

Way too warm! I've been pruning the walnuts the past couple weeks and they drip sap as soon as I cut. I'm sure the ticks have awakened too. Time to treat a couple sets of work clothes with permethrin. That said, it sure is beautiful weather.

69 degrees here today. Maple tree buds starting to swell and get really red. Pear tree has fat buds too.
